Donkey Konga and Music
Enjoy and grats to Tom!

Contact! Children & New Media sold 1000+
Contact! Children & New Media sold 1000 copies so far! That's why a small conference was held to discus the issues presented in the book. The mixed audience of teachers, pedagogues, and social workers discussed the implications of new media (games in particular) and children's self-image (i.e. identity), how games can have a positive influence of cognitive development, and how virtual environments like Habbo Hotel help children to play (i.e. explore) their personality and identity. The day proofed to be successful, as participants suggested new directions for research and debated how current research could be implemented in schools, and other professional social work. Take a look at Kinderen en nieuwe media for an overview of the speakers, or order the book at: bol.com An English and digital version of the book is available too.
